Malaysia Stung by Massive Data Breach Affecting Millions

Malaysian authorities are investigating a massive data breach that exposed 46.2 million mobile phone records. The breach is likely the largest in Malaysia to become public, says FireEye’s CTO for Asia Pacific Bryce Boland. The leaked data includes subscriber information from major telecoms such as Celcom and Celcom. Malaysia’s population is about 31 million, suggesting multiple records for the same people were compromised. The data was for sale on several underground web forums for 1 bitcoin, currently worth about $6,500.”]
