Cisco Talos: Botnet Targets Windows, Linux Devices to Mine for Monero cryptocurrency. The “Lemon Duck” cryptomining botnet is designed to mine for monero cryptocurrency by using XMR malware. The botnet uses at least 12 attack vectors to target devices and spread its malware to other endpoints. Lemon Duck is a globe-spanning botnet that has infected devices in the U.S. and Europe as well. The operators of Lemon Duck use spam emails with malicious attachments to spread the malware, the researchers say.”]
