Huge Malware Distribution Network Crippled

Malware distribution network EITest provided traffic to a variety malicious campaigns. The networked used compromised websites to direct users to ransomware, tech support schemes and exploit kits. Malware researcher Kafeine, who works for Proofpoint, says users who encountered a website tampered with are now being redirected to a sinkhole. In just under three weeks, the sinkhole notched 44 million requests from 52,000 compromised servers and websites. The sinkhole, which is a non-malicious domain, became active on March 15.”]
