Fraudsters Target Cryptocurrency Platforms Through GoDaddy

Fraudsters targeted two cryptocurrency platforms by accessing domains managed by GoDaddy. The fraudsters gained access to the platforms by using social engineering techniques to trick GoDaddy employees into temporarily transferring control over the domains to the malicious actors. GoDaddy says the attacks affected only a “limited” number of accounts, and the firm is taking steps to address the issue. Gartner: Cryptocurrency firms are susceptible to these types of attacks because the anonymous aspects of virtual currency make it difficult for law enforcement agencies to track transactions.”]
