FISMA Reform Passes House on 416-0 Vote

The House of Representatives unanimously approved a bill making the first significant reforms in 11 years to the way the federal government governs information security. The bill would require federal agencies to monitor their IT systems for cyberthreats and implement regular threat assessments. Both measures go to the Senate for its consideration; it’s unclear whether the Senate will take a less comprehensive approach in the current Congress. The Republican-led House has taken a different approach to cybersecurity legislation than the Democratic-led Senate. The Senate has combined a series of bills into comprehensive legislation.”]
