New Faces of Fraud Survey: Check fraud is one of the top three fraud forms plaguing banking institutions. Sixty-three percent of survey respondents say they experienced check fraud in 2010. Only 34 percent of banks and credit unions say they are well equipped to fight these crimes. Banks are expected to invest more heavily in measures to cut fraud in 2011, but a focus on check fraud is likely not the biggest allocation. As more check payments and deposits move to images, financial institutions of all sizes must keep apace with fraud trends.”]
