DHS Preparing More Cybersecurity Requirements for Pipelines

DHS preparing additional cybersecurity requirements for oil and gas companies in wake of Colonial Pipeline attack. TSA official: New directive would require additional risk mitigation measures. Lawmakers continue to criticize Colonial Pipeline for not working more with CISA to conduct a security assessment. CISA director: “We must gain increased visibility to cybersecurity risks and this visibility” Lawmakers are also weighing whether to draft legislation that would give DHS or CISA additional oversight of cybersecurity in critical infrastructure sectors such as gas and oil. The Senate is expected to release a draft of a proposed federal breach notification law in coming weeks.”]
