Did Disclosure Delay Guidance?

The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council’s draft guidance was released in February. The draft was inadvertently disclosed and started circulating throughout the industry. The extra time is giving regulators more time to review and refine their recommendations, says IT security expert David Navetta. The final version of the FFIEC guidance will be released in March. Navett: “A [disclosure] like this could make it more challenging for the regulators” in crafting the final version, but it’s a good one.”]
