“Dragon Day” depicts the aftermath of a fictional cyber-attack by China, fueled by anger over the U.S. debt. Jetliners crash, power grid fails, ATMs don’t dispense cash and communications become disrupted. Film’s plot is influenced by Travis’ early years living in Argentina at a time of hyperinflation and unrest caused by massive debt. Travis says he tried to make the film plausible, consulting with computer engineers and using his own experience as a former software engineer.
