Dr Reddys works to restore systems after ransomware attack

Pharmaceutical manufacturer Dr Reddys acknowledged Wednesday that it had suffered a ransomware attack. The Hyderabad-based company experienced an information security incident on Oct. 22, forcing the company to isolate affected IT services. Ransomware is a form of malware that encrypts files on the machines it attacks, demanding that victims pay a fee to unlock them. India consistently ranks among the countries most severely affected by the malware, with 82% of organizations in India reporting suffering a ransom attack in the past year.”]
