Backdoor accounts found in 80 Sony IP security camera models

Security cameras made by Sony could be taken over by hackers and infected with botnet malware if their firmware is not updated. Researchers from SEC Consult have found two backdoor accounts that exist in 80 models of professional Sony security cameras. Sony was informed about the issue in October and released firmware updates for all affected camera models on Nov. 28. The affected cameras can be attacked over the local network or over the internet if their Web interfaces are publicly accessible. A search via the Censys.io search engine revealed around 4,000 security cameras connected to the Internet, but these are likely not all of them.”]
