New legislation seeks to prevent US voting systems from being hacked

Georgia lawmaker introduces two bills to protect U.S. voting systems from hacking. The Democratic National Committee was hacked in June, prompting fears that Russian spies may be targeting elections. The bills are unlikely to pass in Congress this year because legislative activity slows down as the national election approaches. The other bill would also require the federal government to designate voting systems as critical infrastructure, meaning it would take a role in protecting them.”]
