DOJ ups ante: New motion asks court to force Apple to help FBI crack attacker’s iPhone

The government files a motion in federal court asking a judge to compel Apple to help the FBI crack an iPhone 5C. The DOJ says Apple has “publicly repudiated” the court’s February 16, 2016 order. Apple had until Feb. 26 to rebut the order by arguing that it would be “unreasonably burdensome” Apple CEO Tim Cook published an open letter on Tuesday challenging the order on Tuesday. The government says Apple’s public statement “makes clear” that Apple will not comply with the order.”]
