Almost 90 percent of healthcare providers have been hit by a breach in the last two years. The average data breach costs hospitals $2.1 million. Centura Health in Colorado saw the writing on the wall in 2012 and began a massive redesign and re-architecting of its security infrastructure in a three-year project. A bigger push in 2014-2015 helped the network of 17 hospitals, two senior living centers and more than 100 physician practices to achieve audit-readiness and further secure the protected health information.”]
