Stagefright vulnerability allows criminals to send malware by text

Vulnerabilities in Android’s “Stagefright” code allows criminals to send malware to any user via text message. The attacker doesn’t have to be in close proximity to the victim. The only indication that there might be something wrong is an MMS notification from an unknown number. Once the malware is installed, the attackers can execute code, access the Internet and listen to the microphone. Users need to update their phones to the latest software, Zimperium’s Joshua Drake said.”]
