Lenovo shipping laptops with pre-installed adware that kills HTTPS

Lenovo is shipping consumer laptops with Superfish (Adware) pre-installed. The software injects ads on sites displayed by Internet Explorer and Chrome browsers. Security experts are alarmed, as the software performs Man-in-the-Middle attacks that compromises all SSL connections. Lenovo responded to questions on a company support forum, saying they have stopped pre-loading Superfish. The company says Superfish hasn’t been installed on laptops since January, and that all server side interactions have been disabled.”]
