The White House wants more money for cybersecurity research, technology and investigators. The 2016 budget seeks $14 billion — a 10% increase over the current fiscal year — in defending U.S. cybersecurity systems. The money will be used to improve federal networks and fund research and development efforts in cybersecurity. A “significant portion” of the budget would be “going to the DOJ (Department of Justice) to investigate public and private sector cyber intrusions,” CIO Lisa Schlosser says.
