CryptDB seeks to address the same challenges but claims to add only 25% to the transaction time. IBM cryptographer Craig Gentry’s homomorphic encryption solution would increase transaction times by a factor of one trillion times. MIT have now outlined a simpler solution to the problem, but it is not perfect, but is a positive step toward answering a difficult question. It will be a step towards answering the difficult question and should be welcomed by cloud vendors.”]
