Mark Weatherford, deputy undersecretary for cybersecurity at the Department of Homeland Security, is returning to the private sector. In two emails, he told friends, colleagues and DHS staff that he’s joining The Chertoff Group, a global security advisory firm that provides consulting, risk management and merger and acquisition (M&A) advisory services. Weatherford’s last day will be April 12, according to an internal email, and his new job will begin on May 1.
