US judge rules for Texas school district in RFID tracking case

A San Antonio, Texas, school district implemented RFID badges with embedded chips to track students’ locations. Andrea Hernandez refused to wear the badge, saying she had religious and privacy concerns. ACLU: RFID tracking in schools violates students’ rights to free speech and association. Judge: “Plaintaintaint is not likely to succeed on merits of her free exercise claim under the merits of the First Amendment” ACLU says RFID chips make the technology “perfect stalking device” for school districts.”]
