Compromised SourceForge mirror distributes backdoored phpMyAdmin package

Unknown attackers compromised a download mirror server for the SourceForge software repository. They rigged the installer package for the popular Web-based database administration tool, with a backdoor. The modified package was phpMyAdmin-3.5.2-all-languages.zip and, according to access logs from the compromised mirror server, it was downloaded by approximately 400 users. The affected mirror server was based in Korea and was compromised on or around Sept. 22, SourceForge said Tuesday in a blog post. It’s not clear why the rogue package modification wasn’t detected earlier.”]
