Infosec: Government urges companies to reveal cyberattacks

David Willetts, minister of state for universities and science, has called for businesses to disclose their experiences of successful and unsuccessful cyberattacks. He believes that this will help to raise awareness about cybersecurity. The government is looking to work closely with the private sector to communicate the importance of cybersecurity to all businesses, he said. PWC’s 2012 Cyber Security Breaches Survey found that 93 percent of organisations questioned had a security breach in the last year – 67 percent of which were smaller firms, he added.”]
