Symantec Verifies Stolen Source Code Posted By Anonymous is “Legitimate”””

Hacker group Anonymous attempted to extort a payment of around $50,000 from Symantec last January. Hacker group posted source code for older versions of pcAnywhere and Norton Antivirus. Security firm says it has not yet determined how the hackers obtained the cache of older source code they now have. Security company: “We still have not determined how Anonymous came into possession of the 2006 source code” Security firm has released patches since Jan. 23 to protect users from possible attacks.”]
