Google Chrome Finally Gets Malware Download Protection

Google’s Chrome 17 beta includes filtering against inadvertently downloading malware executables. Feature has been on the browser’s long list as long ago as April 2011. Developers hope it will be extended over the course of 2012. New address bar will be able to pre-render web pages before the full address has been entered, reducing loading times to near instant, Google says. Feature will also block downloads from domains identified as being sources of malicious files, which covers legitimate domains that have been hijacked to host malware.”]
