Japanese Game Company Square Enix Shuts Fan Site After Hack

A server for a Japanese game developer’s free “Square Enix Members” site has been hacked. The server holds information on 1.8 million users, including 800,000 from the U.S., Square Enix says. The site is still down Thursday as an investigation into the hacking continues. In May, Square Enix said it suffered hacking attacks into a Canadian subsidiary and two product sites in that attack. It said 350 applicants’ resumes and up to 25,000 email addresses were stolen in May.”]
