Infor may be about to announce an acquisition of Lawson Software, six weeks after news of its US$1.8 billion offer for ERP vendor came to light. The company apparently posted and then pulled a press release announcing the deal. The deal is expected to close in the third calendar quarter of this year, according to the pulled release. Infor has a reputation as more of a holding company than a vendor bent on developing unique software. But it may want to buy Lawson more for its strong presence in vertical markets like health care than technology.”]
