High court in Taipei orders temporary suspension of construction at phase three of the Central Taiwan Science Park. Environmental groups had raised concerns about cancer risks from water runoff into surrounding farmland. Government has already planned an appeal of the decision. The park is a manufacturing center for companies such as liquid crystal display panel maker AU Optronics. If allowed, the expansion of the park would open 111.6 more hectares of land for industrial development. If allowed it would open more than a million acres of land to industrial development.”]
