Google Legal Move Could Alter Course of Oracle Trial

Google has asked the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office to re-examine a number of Oracle patents. The move could have a significant effect on how the dispute plays out. Nearly all, 92 percent, of the 11,211 patents filed since 1981 have been granted, USPTO document shows. The re-examination process could potentially cause a substantial delay to the actual trial. A judge denied Google’s request for permission to file a request for summary judgment on copyright infringements by Android.”]
