Google, Microsoft ad networks hit with Malware

Cybercriminals infected Google’s and Microsoft’s ad networks with malicious ads. The attacks started around Dec. 5 and lasted a few days, according to security consultancy Armorize. The ads exploit known software bugs in Adobe Reader, Java and other PC software, Armorize says. Google says it has put the attacks on its DoubleClick network quickly and blocked the ads. Microsoft says it is looking into the matter and could not comment in time for this report. If the cybercriminals were able to get their bad ads on Google’s networks, they’ll probably try to do the same thing on other networks too, he says.”]
