Apple responds on App Store fraud

Apple has responded to reports that a rogue developer hacked the App Store to get 40 apps listed on the store’s top sales rankings. The developer’s apps were removed from the store for violating the developer Program License Agreement, Engadget reports. Apple’s response stops short of admitting that the store had been hacked, but the warning about credit card theft and fraudulent iTunes account usage could imply something happened. Now might be a good time to double check your iTunes account for suspicious charges, MacRumors says it’s not a new phenomenon.”]
