Microsoft Denies Blame for ‘Black Screens of Death’

Microsoft denies reports that November Windows updates are causing “black screen” problems. U.K.-based security vendor Prevx blog post last week said recent updates changed registry entries. The result, sometimes dubbed “Black screen of death,” is a lock-out of users’ PCs. Microsoft: “Our comprehensive investigation has shown that none of the recently released updates are related to the behavior described in the reports” Some outsiders skeptical of Prevx’s contention that the black screen problem was due to November updates.”]
