Local Officials in Texas Criticize Voter Database

The Texas Election Administration Management (TEAM) system was built to store and analyze voter registration data from the states 254 counties. County officials have been peppering the state with complaints about the system since it went live in January. The protests increased markedly after statewide local elections were held on May 12. A spokesman for Texas Secretary of State Roger Williams said TEAM was built for the federal Help America Vote Act that requires states to create a centralized repository of eligible voters statewide. He acknowledged that some problems occurred during the early voting process for the May 12 election.”]
