Report: Guccifer 2.0 appears to be not an individual but rather a persona employed by one or more Russian intelligence officers working for the GRU, or Russia’s military intelligence agency. The Daily Beast reports that on one occasion, “Guccifer failed to activate the VPN client before logging on.
