House OKs 2nd Cyberthreat Info-Sharing Bill

A second cyberthreat information sharing bill passed the House of Representatives on April 23. The National Cybersecurity Protection Advancement Act provides businesses with liability protections if they share cyberthreat info with the federal government and other businesses. The White House has given both bills a lukewarm endorsement, but it wants to narrow the liability protections the measures offer. The Senate Intelligence Committee’s version of the bill should come up for a vote shortly, but did not provide a specific date. If the Senate passes its own measure, conferees from both chambers will draft new language in hopes of winning the support of a majority of lawmakers.”]
