Flaws in John Deere Systems Show Agriculture’s Cyber Risk

Australian researcher Sick Codes presented his latest findings at the Def Con security conference in Las Vegas. John Deere says the company’s systems have been patched. The company denies the findings and downplays the seriousness of the claims. The FBI issued a warning in March 2016 that the agricultural sector’s increasing dependence on technology increased the potential for cyber attacks on agricultural equipment.
