Canadian Lab Pays Ransom to ‘Retrieve’ Data

Canadian medical testing lab says hackers gained access to data on 15 million clients in late October. The lab then retrieved the data by making a payment, it states. Canadian regulators say they are investigating the incident. Data exposed included customer names, addresses, emails, birthdates, logins, passwords, health card numbers and lab results. Hackensack Meridian Health in the U.S. says it paid ransom to unlock systems that were hit by a cyberattack last week.”]
