9 Iranians Indicted for Massive Hacking Scheme

The U.S. Department of Justice has announced the indictment of nine Iranians accused of massive hacking scheme. Thousands of professors worldwide were among those allegedly targeted, the Justice Department says. The hackers used stolen account credentials to obtain unauthorized access to professors’ accounts, which they used to steal research and other academic data and documents, prosecutors say. The defendants allegedly worked for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the DOJ says. Rep.
