Of 15 major privacy investigations underway, 10 focus on Facebook. Ireland’s Data Protection Commission has launched investigations into Facebook, Apple, Twitter, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and Instagram. The regulator says it’s focusing on some of the world’s biggest data processors first so that it can extract lessons from which others can learn. Facebook says it spent more than 18 months working to comply with the EU’s new privacy law, the General Data Protection Regulation, went into full effect on May 25, 2018.
