Anom was a fake encrypted messaging app created as part of a global sting operation led by the U.S. FBI, Australian Federal Police (AFP), and other law enforcement agencies to catch criminals. As seen by BleepingComputer today, ANOM’s Twitter account @anomsecure carries a revised bio that states “we are not federal agents” Anom’s inception was part of Operation Ironside, or Operation Trojan Shield, which ran between 2018 and 2021.
