Finnish psychotherapy practice Vastaamo has declared itself bankrupt. Hackers accessed a database of customer details and notes from therapy sessions. Criminals published batches of sensitive records on the dark web in an attempt to blackmail patients. CEO Ville Tapio knew that hackers had continued to access the chain of private psychotherapy clinics systems. Tapio did not share critical information with the appropriate authorities or with other members of the firms board. He was subsequently fired, and replaced as the CEO.
