U.S. Commerce Department, Treasury, FireEye and more appear to be linked to cyberattacks linked to SolarWinds software updates. Cybersecurity firm FireEye says “Sunburst” software updates included backdoors. The updates were signed using valid digital signatures, which could steal files, profile systems and disable system services. The attacks are considered so serious that the National Security Council held an emergency meeting on Saturday to discuss the attacks.
