U.S. Commerce Department, Treasury, FireEye and more all appear to be linked to cyberattacks linked to SolarWinds software updates. Cybersecurity firm FireEye says new software updates included backdoors, dubbed “Sunburst” The updates were signed using valid digital signatures, and could steal files, profile systems and disable system services. The attacks are considered to be so serious that the National Security Council held an emergency meeting on Saturday to discuss the attacks. The National Institutes of Health, Department of Homeland Security, State Department and National Homeland Security have also been targeted.”]
