4G gets supercharged as France tests out LTE-Advanced

SFR has begun piloting the technology in Marseille, France’s second biggest mobile operator. LTE-Advanced is the successor to LTE and expected to be rolled out at the end of 2014. Initial hardware launches likely to focus on routers in order to share 4G connectivity between a number of users. Its thought to be one of the only such pilots in Europe – to date, most of the pilots have taken place in Asia and the first network rollout has been in Asia.”]
