Cybersecurity experts say the likelihood of election results being impacted by an attack is slim. The biggest risk to elections is all the ancillary elements associated with the election process, they say. The focus should be on other problem-plagued election infrastructure issues that are ripe for attack, researchers say. 85 percent of respondents believe that cyber-threat actors will have at least some impact on the U.S. elections in 2020. Nearly one third of respondents think that the impact will be critical, and that the results of the 2020 election will always be in doubt.
